Peter Moore Leaves Microsoft, Joins Electronic Arts

Peter Moore, the head of Microsoft's gaming business, is leaving to join game maker Electronic Arts. For the past four years Mr Moore has been the public face of Microsoft's Xbox and PC gaming business, and oversaw the launch of the Xbox 360. He will join Electronic Arts as the head of its sports games division which makes some of its most popular titles. He will be replaced by Don Mattrick, a former EA senior executive who has worked as a consultant at Microsoft.

The news about Mr Moore comes only weeks after Microsoft announced it would be spending $1.15bn to fix faulty Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft said nothing should be read into the timing of Mr Moore's departure.

Argh, this sucks. I actually likes watching all the media briefings and stuff he did for the Xbox 360. There was just something about the way that he presented things that gave me real excitement about the Xbox 360, its games and its peripherals. Now hes gone to work for EA, the biggest sequel whores on the planet. What a shame.

E. A. SPORTS! It's in the game and it ruining it. We haven't had a decent football game due there greed. Every since 2k kick them in the nuts with a better football game for 19.99, its been a sad day for video games and football. Cant wait till another company gets a shot at an NFL game. Madden 2008 comes out soon. Hopefully they improved the presentation and animations, the graphics are OK, but thats about it. This year we finally get dual tackling (hopefully). Needs realism. Sorry for the rant, but everytime i here EA mention, a failed nextgen Madden comes to mind.
