While Microsoft is shooting for a cool $155 Million first day haul for its upcoming monster hit Halo 3, Lazard Capital Market's Colin Sebastian thinks otherwise. He believes Microsoft's estimate is "conservative" and that Halo 3 has the potential to easily pass $200 Million "within hours" on the first day of sales. Whether or not that happens of course we won't know until September 25th.
Needless to say, after Halo 2's $125 Million launch, expectations are running high for Halo 3 and Microsoft expects the game to push a lot of Xbox 360's out the door. Just in time for the holiday season naturally. With Xbox 360 games by default at $60 US price wise, $200 Million in first day sales doesn't seem so far fetched actually. Not to mention those who will wind up buying the Legendary edition and Limited editions.
I know I want that neato Spartan helmet!

Yes and your just a PS3 fanboy who does not see the greatness in the other exclusives.
wth... because the profit margain on console games is huge so a $200m revenue on day one will result in huge profit
however thats not the issue, analysts can't calculate profit for a firm, profit is the end result once you substract all other costs the firm had to spend in order to achieve a certain revenue
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Bioshock (Already out)
CoD4
PGR4
Too Human
Half Life: Orange Box
Army of Two
Kane and Lynch
I could go on...
LOL. I'd love to see that. Take a camera with you. Show them that there is such a thing as the internet.
Balancing the hand gun may be the single best thing that happened with Halo2, IMO. I agree with you on the Elites talking english and almost completely doing away with "Wort Wort Wort" They could have at least given their voices a more alien quality rather than them all sounding like James Earl Jones...that alone almost completely destroyed Halo2 for me.
This will get me to finally buy a 360, so that part of the article is true for me. Had the original Xbox since the beginning. About a year ago I retired it to Console Heaven...the pile of obsolete consoles in a closet
Just leave that part out next time.
So when did you play Halo 3? You realize its still 2 weeks out, right? Were you a beta tester or something?
So sad.
the halo series are the most over hyped games of recent times
they are average at best
i don't know where all this fuss comes from
its like the whole world has gone mad
