Analyst: Halo 3 to sell $200 Million on release day?

I'm confused. Why do they care so much about revenue when profit is king? Why is it that no other game gets analysts talking about revenue in this way? Halo 3 isn't "special". It's just being pimped out because that's all the Xbox 360 can count on right now.

wth... because the profit margain on console games is huge so a $200m revenue on day one will result in huge profit

however thats not the issue, analysts can't calculate profit for a firm, profit is the end result once you substract all other costs the firm had to spend in order to achieve a certain revenue

from what i have heard EB AUstralia sold out of the leg packs and the LE packs are starting to out sell the normal packs... i think most ppl who play 360 alot will go with the LE pack over the normal one...

I just dont see the hype they are making over halo 3, halo 2 was not all that great to me. I really hated the changes they did to the weapons, no longer can you pwn everyone with the hand gun. They made the elites talk in english instead of their native "Wort Wort Wort" language a.k.a. the sarge talking backwards. It was fun to hear them talk like that in the first game.

Balancing the hand gun may be the single best thing that happened with Halo2, IMO. I agree with you on the Elites talking english and almost completely doing away with "Wort Wort Wort" They could have at least given their voices a more alien quality rather than them all sounding like James Earl Jones...that alone almost completely destroyed Halo2 for me.

This will get me to finally buy a 360, so that part of the article is true for me. Had the original Xbox since the beginning. About a year ago I retired it to Console Heaven...the pile of obsolete consoles in a closet

i don't really mind the language they speak in.IMHO this promises to be a ggreat game and I won't let u try to spoil the up and coming eexperience. It's a game and it's not designed to individual specifications (although that would be nice) so u are just gonna take it the way you see it.

i still play halo 2 online even now, and having played the beta i can safely say that halo 3 is even better. much better.

i dont see what the fuss is about halo, i played Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3... I found each one of them more boring than the last. I played online, I played in a big room with xbox's all over the place and friends and tv's every where. The social interaction part was fun but the game its self I found dull and lacking any aspect of a good FPS. I really never saw what the fuss was about the Halo series (obviously), but I hope that all of you people, who get whatever it is you get out of it, enjoy Halo 3 to its fullest.

sole reason i got a XBox360 right now is cause of one game alone and it damn sure aint halo3 cause that series is highly overrated.... the game i got the 360 for was Forza Motorsport 2

... this game dont exist = i dont have the 360 in my hands right now, it's as simple as that.
