Arguably one of the top console FPS's in terms of player population at the moment, Halo 3 added several updates to its matchmaking playlist yesterday, the first in what will presumably be a long string of updates over the coming months. According to Multiplayer Lead Tyson Green and test wunderkind David Gasca, the changes include:
  • Big Team Battle matches are now 16-player affairs.
  • In the Team Slayer playlist, the appearance of Shotty Snipers has been greatly reduced.
  • Now, when players veto Shotty Snipers, the game that results from the veto will not be Shotty Snipers.
  • In one-sided VIP matches, the attacking team will now see a waypoint for the VIP they are hunting.
  • In Lone Wolves, Slayer gametypes will appear more frequently.

I played some 'bigger' BTB yesterday and there was quite a bit of lag. I hope they can get it sorted soon.

I wish they'd figure out that Sniper elimination is NOT a tactical team game, there's absolutely nothing tactical or teamplay required for sniper elim. it's all about individual skill.

and I wish they'd change it so you iddn't have to play the forth game on team objective matches when you're team has allready won, or your team has no chance of winning anyway. it's just wasted time you could use to play another game wich actually serves a prupose. and it's not like you can quit since that gives xp penalty.

I don't get why you can't just make your own playlists or game types, or even just "preferred" settings so you can play CTF matches and such.
