According to the technology guide Smarthouse, Microsoft and Toshiba may be working on a new Xbox "Entertainment Hub" edition. This new device could possibly add on to the current Xbox 360 specifications with a built-in HD-DVD player, HD TV tuner, and a MP3 player docking port (perhaps using the Zune docking pin setup?).
The article goes into more detail on the device and suggests that they expect it to be released late 2008 or early 2009.

Although releasing a SKU with a HD DVD drive would greatly benefit MS because people can choose - whereas they are forced to with the PS3.
I understand what torrentthief meant just fine, perhaps you should re-read his sentence but this time a little slower.
He means that if they release a 360 with a HD-DVD drive included for a marginal increase above the console's current cost, then lots of people would buy it. However if the discount is less than 20% of the current cost of the console plus the hd-dvd player, then people wont.
