The PlayStation 3 1.94 firmware update, only currently available with Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, adds firmware-level support for the upcoming rumble-enabled DualShock3 controller. Tools of Destruction is the first retail game with built-in support for the DualShock3, although Sony has plans for releasing many future games with the “new” feature. By pressing the middle PS button on a PS3 DualShock3 controller, the DualShock3's rumble can be toggled on or off from the Controller Setting menu in-game. Sony plans to release the DualShock3 in Japan this November, with the peripheral coming to the U.S. and Europe this spring.

I think its stupid that they're delaying the release of the controller in the US.

Isn't the rumble feature just a vibrating feature? By Sony only just releasing this feature I'd assume they look like last-generation fools.

My moto stands: If you're going to buy a next-generation console, wait until the competition has been released, analyse which make the most sales, look at the line of games, and work out with your brain which is best for you.

Vibration feedback provided great emersion in the game (when done right), look at the orginal metal gear soild. The "it's old gen" arugement by Sony was nothing more then a smoke screen to cover up the legal / patent issues sony had with another company (which they paid to use patent).

Having motion + vibration control can greatly enrich a game.

ffs... get your head out of your asses... of course they had to delay it. They didn't own the rights to it, and had to settle with immerson to get the rights. What they messed up on was saying "we can't add rumble to the controller without comprimising it", instead of just announcing they couldn't due to the ongoing lawsuit.

JP gets it in NOV, Us gets it in.... Spring WTF? O well, I hope they have a driver out to use the controller via BT on your computer, ill buy one just for that even if I don't own a PS3 by then.

there was patent issues in the US. That's the reason for the delay
