Ubisoft has revealed a sequel to last year's Rainbow Six outing in Sin City, Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The sequel (yes, it's still set in Las Vegas) will be hitting PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in March 2008, with a new single-player campaign and "some surprises" left over for versus and co-op modes. Other than that, Ubisoft is reluctant to reveal any more about the sequel. "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas has been the effect of a bomb in the world of video gaming in 2006, by introducing in one fell swoop technological advance and innovation in terms gameplay," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, in a French press release we translated on Google.

The game was named after the team in the Tom Clancy book "Rainbow Six" which featured a multi-national special forces team called "Rainbow Six"

Yeah, "Six" refers to the head to this elite team. Back when I actually paid attention to the story, it was John Clark.

Yeah, sorry the teams name was "Rainbow" to refer to the multi-national makeup

Rainbow Six is the best "Modern Tactical Shooters" I have ever played.

I would've agreed with ya 2 months ago but if COD keeps up the pace we might have a new winner..

well its pretty much a completely different experience cuz r6 vegas focuses on leadership and tactics while cod is more about cooperation and teamwork.

both are awesome games, but i prefer r6 just a bit more

i would probably agree with you.... cause after playing "Rainbow Six: Vegas" not long ago and just playing Call of Duty 4 (both on pc) recently.... i prefer Rainbow Six VEGAS overall more ... it's got overall better feeling weapons and they feel more powerfull etc just the overall game seemed better in my opinion... not to mention call of duty 4 is damn short! (beat it in 2-3days where most games take me about a week ish at the rate i was playing it)

Liked R6 Raven Shield/Athena Sword, but R6 Lockdown was total crap and R6 Vegas was only slightly better.

They need to return to the realistic style of game play that was in Raven Shield, where you will probably die if you get shot.... not this console-style baloney where you can get shot all you want just so long as you get healing quick. There's already a plethora of console-style shooters on the market. Rainbow Six needs to get away from that.

well you can make VEGAS ALOT more difficult if you jack of the difficulty.. you cant get barely hit then otherwise you die.

I have Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox and couldn't really get into it. I played Lockdown a bit and it felt really cheesy. I passed on Vegas. I'll probably pass on Vegas 2.

That's like trying apples and then deciding not to get a slice of pizza Those games are in two different leagues.

You should give Vegas a try.
