In November 2007, Sony's PlayStation 2 (496,000) outsold the PS3 (466,000) but both were beaten by the PlayStation Portable (567,000). Microsoft's Xbox 360 (770,000) may have beaten the PS3 again, but Nintendo's Wii trounced them both (981,000). Nintendo didn't rest there, though; last month, the DS continued its wrath against the PSP (1,530,000). Overall, November sales were much higher than October’s: the holiday season is approaching. Now that you have those numbers mulling around in your head, let’s see what you think about the software sales:
  • Call of Duty 4 (360): 1 1.57 Million
  • Super Mario Galaxy (Wii): 1.12 Million
  • Assassin’s Creed (360): 980K
  • Guitar Hero III (PS2): 967K
  • Wii Play (Wii): 564K
  • Mass Effect (360): 473K
  • Call of Duty 4 (PS3): 444K
  • Guitar Hero III (Wii): 426K
  • Halo 3 (360): 387K
  • Assassin’s Creed (PS3): 377K

Nice. Good to see more Wii titles in the top 10.

I'm not surprised to see the Nintendos at the top of the list, but I am surprised that the PSP outsold the other Playstations.

I love how Nintendo is selling more Wii's than PS2 and PS3 combined. Yet, people claim Nintendo is holding back stock to increase demand.... yeah, sure.

Because every day people show up at 6AM looking for them.

I feel real bad every time I see parents asking about them for their kids and knowing they will probably never find one.

You don't see them in stores because the stores are only getting a dozen or so at a time and people are waiting outside for them when the store opens. They sell within minutes.

The Wal-Mart by my house got like 40 in the other day and they were gone 3 hours later.

My store got 200 in two weeks ago. The stock was sold out in about 4 hours.

I think it's funny to see Wii Play in the top lists month after month.

I feel it's mostly the bundled controller that allows sales to be so well.

Probably but it's a brilliant marketing move! And they didn't even count Wii Sports. It would have sold 981,000 copies (same as consoles) and been number 3 on the list.

Nice ... Nintendo back to the top ..... oh and IMO that's thanks to the ds more than the Wii

In the software race, competition for the top slot was far tighter. The month's top SKU was the Xbox 360 edition of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, with 1.57 million copies sold. (NPD did not provide PC sales figures for the game.)

It's got to be at least a million. Why don't they want to count PC sales when they are doing well? Not to mention that the PC version of CoD4 is far better than the console version. You can have up to 48 players in the PC version, and the controls are better in 1st person.
