Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Hands-on Preview

Later this year, European and Australian gamers will get their first taste of the next in the Gran Turismo series with the Prologue edition. Gran Turismo for years has remained untouched as the best driving simulator but Turn 10 and Microsoft are starting to give Kaz and his team a real run for their money, so many see GT5 as one of the most crucial and biggest Playstation 3 releases of 2008 and we can't but help agree. We recently got a build of Prologue to play around with and while it is only a Prologue, it's clear this is going to be one of the biggest games of 2008.

Since the release of Gran Turismo 4 it seems like we have been bombarded month after month with racing games of various quality. The standout for 2007 was the Xbox 360 exclusive Forza 2, which probably has a few people nervous about Gran Turismo and its dominance of the market. Gran Turismo 5 prologue gives us a taste of what’s to come, and that taste is sweet and bountiful.

Wow so GT5 is now being shifted towards 2009.. how much time do these people need to finish the damn game.. I mean I could make the game myself in 10 years. They've been making GT5 for like 2-3 years now already? and now mention of slipping into 2009 with half feature missing Prologue available mid-2008? So both MGS4 and GT5 are now most likely to show in 2009. Talk about hiding the problems in development.

Maybe there just adding more and more features. by 2009 the PS3 will be in full swing and the games will look even better. wish it was abit sooner but on the up side it gives me more time to save up for a ps3.

i USED to be a big fan of GT series until the Forza Motorsport series came along... now GT just aint nearly as good as it used to be... and unless there a major change to it's core gameplay (which i doubt will happen) then odds are it's pretty much going to be like Gran Turismo 4 but with better graphics.

as far as im concerned Forza Motorsport 2 on XBox360 is KING of simulation racing games! (forza 1 is still better than all other sim games besides forza 2 if you ask me) (when playing with ALL ASSIST OFF of course as it's much more fun/challenging that way)

I played some GT demo of sorts on the PS3... not sure which version but I think it looked alright but it played like ****.... and the controller just sucks ass and their default controller settings was awkward...

sometimes I just wonder how people can have soooo much IQ to make a game and all and **** up controller settings.. did they not play test it?

maybe they kept the original settings from GT1 back in the day? which is dumb...

and after I changed the settings I still couldnt play it because the feeling was just like ****.

PGR 1, 2, 3, 4 FTW...
