Activision, which is awaiting approval of its merger with the games unit of French media giant Vivendi, is continuing to benefit from sales of Guitar Hero 3 and Call of Duty 4. They announced revenues of US$350 million for the 4th quarter which was about 25% higher than analysts expected.

Activision is currently working to complete "Kung Fu Panda" for Dreamworks and a new James Bond title for Sony that will also be tied to an upcoming movie.

Good games make good money. EA could learn a thing or two from this.
