- how about a political relism game where you can stop going to war with iraq, then **** your people off by starting another war with iraq before destroying the world with a nuclear war ? no ? shame

And you think it is a weakness to ensure an equally healthy populus why?.. Your health'care'(lol) system is tragically broken, and yet you and people like you continue to defend it?
A people are defined on how they treat their elderly, sick and infirm... America has an INHUMANE reputation as far as these matters go.
As for this type of thinly veiled propaganda being called a game.. it's quite sad that people would even consider this a recreational pastime.

Additionally, you obviously haven't played Political Machine, you ignorant socialist. It isn't veiled propaganda in any sense, and it's idiot tin-foil hat types like you who "swallow any old garbage".

Edit: I feel the need to return to the original subject of this thread, since it seems to have diverged from that substantially. I've read somewhere that the original Political Machine (made before the 2004 election) produces the same results as the actual Bush / Kerry election, when played with the same timeline. It'll be really interesting to see how it fares this time around.

Exactly what do you think propaganda means? OF COURSE it's propaganda..
At this stage in American politics where you have virtually your entire media trying to persude you that your elections are being fair and open, that your candidates are worthy of the position and that (your version of) democracy is working A-OK.. when the information you are fed on a daily basis in an ever increasing attempt to blugeon you dumb with lies and misdirection, ANYTHING that is not part of the solution is part of the problem, and if it's part of the problem then it's propaganda. It may not be the classic form of government sponsored propaganda, but that's far from being the only definition.
The only way the game WOULDN'T be propaganda for the status quo would be if it ridiculed the candidates either in gameplay or story and/or showed you exactly how the political system is failing. If the 'game' at all treats the situation as either a serious or desirable one then all it is doing is enforcing a point of view which is at best, misleading or at worst, complicit.
This comment would have been aimed at the commenter above who said said the same thing first, however by attempting to 'catagorise me politically' (" you ignorant socialist" ) he not only showed a fundamental lack of understanding , but also an ignorance all of his own by using definitions which he obviously does not understand. -

No propaganda either.
Players then choose their campaign battlegrounds and are off on the campaign trail to face a host of challenges including fundraising, talk show appearances, hiring spin doctors and winning endorsements. The game is won on Election Day by the player who gets the necessary electoral votes to become President.
The Political Machine is both a single and a multiplayer game - players can either compete against the computer or against others online on www.politicalmachine.com. The website also provides an ideologically neutral location for users to discuss the current election.
The game will be released at retail in this upcoming June for $19.95.
