The new TF2 Update is expected Tuesday, April 29th!

When we were in Seattle and play testing a near final build of the newest update, which includes the new game mode Gold Rush, we found out some more details of the new achievements and loading screens. Many of the achievements have been known, but some have changed since the info was originally released. Some of these achievements will be given based on past performance when this update rolls out. However, some (such as saving a falling teammate with a UberCharge) have not had anything to record those statistics previously, so will have to be earned post-update.

We also had the opportunity to interview Erik, a project manager at Valve. We will have more details later about the interview, but we did talk some on achievements. Valves idea for achievements are to help guide people to try new ways of playing the game to better help the whole team. Acting as goals, they give you direction in how to play the game better.

Good we need more medics playing, im tired of people always calling "MEDIC" and are too lazy to see that no one is playing medic.

One of the achievement is to switch to Medic when someone call medic and there's 0 medic in the team! I guess you'll be happy now

hehe, i miss firendlyfire Before, in the CS beta 2 - 6.5 (just got ****ty after that), FF was ALWAYS on.
Nothing more developing on your sences then the risk of killing a teammate.
And you have the option to kill a teammate if he is annoying

and...uh, why do we say "FF is on"? shouldn't we actually say that it is off? always puzzled me.

I'm all for more people playing medic, however I've got a terrible feeling that the balance is now going to shift the other way! It looks like my Medic days are over, at least for a while anyway.

And how do you ubercharge two teammates simultaneously? Is that meant to mean give two players invulnerability in the same ubercharge, or something else?

good to know I'm not the only one wondering how to do that

yes.

start your charge on 1 guy, take it off him and hit another with it.

w00t, 5 million hp healed has gone! i am no longer 3% of the way to finishing that one, and instead i am 30% towards completing
#4.1 SkyyPunk on 29 Apr 2008 - 17:58
10** million. Even the press release we got from just a week ago said 10 million, but they just recently dropped it to 1, since most of the medium to above average players (time wise I think they were referring to) were nearing 1 million

Valve is in the pacific time zone. I would expect it, if it comes today, this evening sometime.
