Continuing the recent trend of leaks, a new video showcasing the revised Xbox 360 dashboard and its game installation functionality has appeared on the internet.

In addition to game installs and Netflix streaming support, the new dashboard will pack customizable Avatars and the original blade interface when it arrives this fall.

seen it before nothing worth watching again. it only a matter of time before hackers use the install to the hard drive to let you play with out the disk.

To remove the disk checking routine would require a modded console, hence the inability to use Live. Don't see the point if you ask me, Live is the best feature of the Xbox 360.

Says who? you can currently play live on a modded xbox i don't see why you wouldn't be able to with the new dashboard.

New dash board is ugly hope we can still have it look like the original.

I totally agree with that comment. The dashboard just doesn't feel polished enough for a full release. Hopefully Microsoft are going to put some tweaks on the end to make it look better.

I also hope they allow us to keep the old dashboard and give us the choice of being able to select which as the dashboard at the moment looks great.

Yeah it just looks too.... square. And what's with all the wasted space and ugly images to represent audio, video, etc.

The new dashboard is fully ugly! Why fix it if it isn't fixed. The new functionality is great, but looks like they've employed children to design it.

The worst part is the Wiitars, but they can probably be turned off.

Yeah, I don't like the WMCesque design. There's simple and then there's "simple".

hmmm from what I see right now, I like the old one better
We'll see with the final version

Right here! I love it! I got bored of the current one. It's too slow and unstable. Half the time when I go to view what's on my hard drive, my 360 crashes!

I like the new look.

great news about game installs cause faster load times is nice BUT reliable game playback and no wear and tear on drives laser will be a huge plus

so in other words.... this dashboard update will be the biggest dashboard update since they added XviD/DivX support a while ago

Essentially, yes. Completely and utterly understated, but yes. This is, essentially, a quantum leap (for better or for worse, depending on your opinion) in feature and design. Like going from Windows 98 to Windows XP.
