Those of you who frequent the rumour mill will remember reports earlier in the year that PC hardware specialists Acer were going to release a console to compete with the likes of the Xbox 360 and PS3. Of course it all turned out to be a load of BS, but even this outlandish rumour had an element of truth to it: Acer was working on a game specific machine, although it is actually a highly specialized PC and it’s a sexy looking thing!

of course, most people bought gadget just for show & ego, found out the problem, then blabber all over the net.
ahhh ... modern so-called life.
1 sata hhd, 2 ide hdds, 1 laptop hdd, dvdrw, dvdrom, hd 3870, x-fi, pci ide expansion card, 450w psu, extra case fan, arctic cooler for the cpu, new 2.6ghz x2, the whole lot stays nice and cool and hasn't overheated once.

So you basically what you are saying is your metal and plastic case with an acer logo on it cools quite efficiently when you replace all the innards...
You realize you are failing to make a point don't you?
It looks like a Transformer, only it doesn't transform into anything.

wow!!!
PC games change hardware requirements every friggin year. I'm not spending that much to keep up! LOL!
I'll stick to a real console. This sounds like an Alienware knockoff.
Seriously, if the price was $4,000 (their low end model) and it came configured with the high end model's parts they describe, it would be worth a look. However, I built a better box than this for under $2K and could probably beat that today.
Pass.
Nice try Acer.
Too clunky to me.
Blue LEDs are "funky"? My Antec case has been funky for years then!
