Activision and Hands-On Mobile have announced a deal that will bring Guitar Hero World Tour and a follow up to Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass, to mobile phones around the world. Hands-On mobile has been granted the exclusive development rights to Guitar Hero World Tour and plans on releasing the title in conjunction with it's console based counterpart, later this year. The follow up to Backstage Pass will be release sometime in 2009.Hands-On Mobile was most likely chosen based on the work they previously did on Backstage Pass and the fact that they won numerous awards for their Mobile iteration of the Guitar Hero franchise. When asked about the decision, Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing for Guitar Hero, said, "Hands-On Mobile has been an ideal partner to recreate the Guitar Hero franchise for mobile phone gaming. The Guitar Hero Mobile platform has proven to be a phenomenal success and a great way for gamers to experience the franchise on yet another platform."
