Most Neowinians will be able to figure out for themselves whether or not a game would be suitable for a child (or even their own), but for those parents that don't follow the tech news comes the MediaWise Video Game Buying Guide.

Recommended games for everyone include High School Musical 3, LittleBigPlanet, and that Animal Crossing Wiimake. LittleBigPlanet is cited as being "a revolutionary game that requires both brains and teamwork to explore, collect and solve puzzles", which is likely to appeal to the education-conscious parent. Recommended T-rated games include Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Rock Band 2, and Shaun White Snowboarding. A list of games to specifically avoid has also been included.

Not a bad article at all for parents. But then the question that does crop up to me is...

Most, if not all the games listed in the "Avoid" section are rated as "M" and here in the UK as "18+" so you shouldn't be buying them for kids anyway!

The second page is really hilarious. Telling parents about how games now instead of just killing you and saying "game over" show you getting ripped into pieces and decapitated. Surely just looking at the back of the box is enough to tell you what the second page does, about each game.

Seriously, give the kid Sims and Counter Strike. What do you think it will be its choice?
