GameSpy has announced their list of 'Best of 2008' PC games, and also gave a "State of the PC" address. There have been quite a few discussions over how well PC gaming did this year, and although there were some ups and downs, the year is ending with some phenomenal game picks."As the GameSpy editorial staff held its annual Game of the Year discussions, an interesting debate arose: Was 2008, in fact, a good year for PC games? As you look at the Top 10 list on the pages that follow, you could argue that it was a great year, with fantastic games in every genre from shooters to role-playing to strategy games."GameSpy also had several categories of winners, but one that stood out was the top 10 PC Games of the Year.
1. Fallout 3
2. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
3. Left 4 Dead
4. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
5. Grand Theft Auto IV
6. World of Goo
7. Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor
8. Mass Effect
9. Sins of a Solar Empire
10. Spore
Fallout 3 snagged PC Game of the Year, and RPG Game of the Year.

I guess this year's standards were pretty low.
Dead Space should be there. Easily. And Sins of a Solar Empire should have ranked higher.
Mass Effect and Spore were really fun to play... and where is Assassins Creed?
pd: GTA4 should not be there, at least not as a PC game. A very poor port for the PC.

ps: assasin creed is not on the list, may be because is a 2007 game (afaik).

Most overhyped game of the year.
Hell yeah. That game is so dull and repetitive. Regardless of our opinions on Fallout 3, these top lists are stupid. Why are we supposed to care about what x company listed as their top games and goty. I think publishers pay these game review sites just to hype up and give praise to the game. I hardly ever trust the reviews anymore. I try out a game that receive and almost perfrect grade and think the game is garbage (GTA 4...)
