It seems like only yesterday that the Internet was rife with speculation surrounding the mysterious Metal Gear teaser site, but today the covers have been lifted and Konami have confirmed Metal Gear Solid Touch for the iPhone and the iPod touch. A spin-off of Metal Gear Solid 4, gameplay is driven by the touch screen, with swipes and pinching gestures familiar to regular iPhone users, apparently making it so easy that anyone can play. The game is due for release in Spring 2009 in North America, Japan and Europe.
Also announced are DanceDanceRevolution S Lite, Silent Hill: The Escape, and Furogga. All three will see a late Decemeber release in all three major territories, except for DanceDanceRevolution S Lite, which won't be released in Europe.

I was hoping for a new one actually.

You can't possibly believe that. Bigger than the PSP...maybe...bigger than the DS?? Yeah right.
I love my touch, but some games are really anoying to play on it without the proper analog sticks
Fair enough, but "touch" is a new paradigm. Once more people start plying this way and become accustomed to it, it might very well catch on. And it already is catching on.
Try playing the DS, and see how new a paradigm touch is...I dont think they will challenge either the PSP or DS anytime soon. If they are serious, the next revision will need to come equipped with a D pad, and buttons at the very least!
Secondly, I'm glad that they've finally admitted it's an iPhone game. If it wasn't for the very few that thought with logic on the subject, I would have lost what little faith I had in the people of the Internet. A 360 MGS game just because of a power button symbol? It just goes to show just how clueless people really are these days.
It's stuff like this that makes me wanna get an iPhone even more! If they make a 32/64GB model to house all my music, I'm there!
Apple hasn't made a good gaming platform yet; their damn PCs barely support games let alone their handhelds.
