MTV Multiplayer posted highlights of New York's Comic Con today, where Todd Howard, Executive Producer and Game Director for Bethesda Softworks, revealed that one of Bethesda's next projects will be for Apple's iPhone.

News Week's N'Gai Croal posted the word on his Twitter account. Currently there is no other information known, but this writer thinks it could very well be of the Elder Scrolls series, as Bethesda has a history of porting their games to mobile devices. The game could potentially be of Bethesda's recently acquired Fallout IP also, as the Elder Scrolls series hasn't had a release since 2006.

Bethesda is one of the growing numbers of large game producers joining the ranks of the App Store pages, with news of the Metal Gear Solid series coming to the iPhone announced a couple months back.

More information should become available shortly, but currently, this is all that's known about the project.

Hum. Why are games appearing faster on my iPod Touch than on my Mac!?

I believe Snow Leopard will fix that a little

Anyway, I guess this is nice news no matter what!

Snow Leopard won't fix the issue of development houses not developing games for the Mac. Only the development houses deciding to increase Mac development will fix that.

But apparently it's harder to develop games with OpenGL than with DirectX. So there's work to do from development houses, but I do recognize that there's also something to do from Apple's side.

As long as they are also working on ES5 for the normal consoles and PC, this is fine.

+1 to that, sir. The ES is my favourite series of games, ever.

Wow, since when is iPhone considered a gaming console?

Oh, right. Never.

ROFL. What else is Bethesda capable of?
