Mass Effect 2, the sequel to Mass Effect, was officially announced today. Not only that, but a teaser trailer was also released! The first game was a resounding success selling almost 2 million for the Xbox 360 alone. Below is the the full Press Release from Electronic Arts and Bioware.

Everything looks great for the game and EA and very confident that it will sell well and exceed the previous iteration. "We're going to surpass the extraordinary gaming experience we brought our fans in Mass Effect by delivering intensified combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration, all while delivering a powerful, emotionally engaging story," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager and CEO, BioWare and General Manager and Vice President, EA.

Expect to see the game in the first or second quarter of 2010. Sorry PS3 user's, there was no mention of you guys. More news should arrive when EA and Bioware showcase the game at the Game Developers Conference on March 27.

Yes we did

ME is one of my all time fav games, even read the books, but why is this game taking so long? And so much for all the DLC's they promised, so far 1, its been 2 years.

Another cash cow for Bioware. Good, it will allow them to continue to support NWN2.

Cash cow or otherwise, I'm sure Mass Effect 2 will be an amazing game. Perhaps even better than the original.
