LEGO Rockband was rumoured to be coming for a good couple of months, and recently at GDC it was let slip via a leaked document that confirmed the game was to be talked about. But now Harmonix has officially revealed that the game is indeed real and will be coming this year. The game is being created in partnership between Harmonix, who developed the earlier Guitar Hero games and now the Rock band series, and Travellers Tales part of the TT Games group, the creators behind the LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Batman and the popular LEGO Star Wars games.
LEGO Rock Band is being developed and aimed at a more casual family friendly audience, much like the previous games you will be able to create your character, now made of LEGO, and take him on a rocking adventure through the world of music with your family and friends.
Song list for the game will include such titles as Blur: "Song 2", Carl Douglas: "Kung Fu Fighting", Good Charlotte: "Boys and Girls", Pink: "So What" and one of my favourites that is always on a good play list, Europe: "The Final Countdown"
Though no other songs for family and kid friendly title have been revealed so far.
The game will be compatible with existing Rock Band instruments and other music controllers and will be arriving on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and will be coming Holiday 2009.

There have been a lot worse games in the past.
Lego Star Wars is widely accepted as being a great game, you should try playing it
Yes, Lego Star Wars has been by far the best Lego based game. Its very fun on the Wii.
+1, I have the Ultimate Saga (Ep1-6) for PS3, very good game to kill some time.
Masters hahaha. You mean Guitar Hero PreSchool Edition is soiling thier name with this lego crap.
What's the matter? You don't think young kids should have fun too?
My kids totally love the Lego games, and this is yet another one I'll probably be getting for them.
