David Jaffe, the video game designer best known for his work on the Twisted Metal series and God of War series, posted a vidcast on YouTube yesterday breaking the news Eat Sleep Play's new game won't be at E3 next week.

Eat Sleep Play was founded in summer 2007 by Scott Campbell and David Jaffe, after Jaffe wanted to focus on small-scale, more personal games. It wasn't long before Sony signed an exclusive three game deal (on both handheld and home consoles). Eat Sleep Play's first game was a port of Twisted Metal: Head On for the PSP in February 2008 which isn't part of the exclusive deal. It was in this game that hints of a new Twisted Metal sequel was in development. During the documentary "Dark Past" which was bundled with Head On, numbers flashed on the screen which corresponded to letters of the alphabet and simply decoded the message "Twisted Metal is coming on PS3".

Although the game won't be on show next week, it is expected Sony will announce the title. Jaffe continued saying that although they won't be there this year, they will attend in 2010.

"Next year, I fully expect us to be on the showfloor. Part of me would love to announce at E3, so you walk into the Sony booth and bam, there's our game."

Catch the full video below; however please note there is strong language so it's not safe for work.

That's disappointing, I'm hoping it's just hype control so Jaffe can be like "BAM, HERE'S OUR NEW GAME!".
