This week on Impulse, Stardock's digital distribution system, titles from Ubisoft have been added and are now available for purchase and download on Impulse. Ubisoft joins this week with Assassins Creed, Far Cry 2, and Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East.

"We are excited to start rolling out a vast array of engaging video games from the Ubisoft catalogue," said Brad Wardell, president and CEO of Stardock. "As our Impulse platform continues to gain favor among PC gaming fans, we're continuously adding the best titles the industry has to offer. We look forward to working with Ubisoft on future releases."

"Stardock has a proven track record as a publisher of quality PC games and an emerging platform for digital distribution with Impulse," said Andy Swanson, senior director of strategic sales and partnerships at Ubisoft. "We look forward to offering consumers yet another opportunity to play our award-winning franchises and receive our games digitally."

Additional titles will be forthcoming this summer. For more information, and a free download of the Impulse client, please visit www.impulsedriven.com.

Do any of these new additions support entering of keys from retail versions to enable a digital download?

That was something that initially excited me about Impulse, the prospect of being able to permanently store away my CD/DVD and have my serial number stored in Impulse, but very few games have that option at the moment.. and it's sad.

Impulse probably charge the publishers for it, the bandwidth required to provide a game download to the internet isn't cheap.

Wonderful. And what happens if Impulse goes off line? Or Stardock goes bankrupt? Where is your CD key then, hmmmm??

So does this mean you can play the game without having to insert the DVD? I assume so since you don't get a physical disk....unless it just downloads and ISO...

Is Impulse like steam, where you can download the game and install it at any point, even after OS reinstalls?

Impulse is basically a Steam knock-off.

I wonder why they removed the Steam news and put in their Impulse news...

Because Neowin has their own branded Impulse client.

Hmm, i think it maybe was a mistake, cause that would not be a good practice.

Im a customer of both and i think, me and other members like Neowin for reading news of their interrest

There is plenty of room for both systems

Me checks his Impulse now for updates and new products )
