Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment have released a new update for the award-winning PC game, Sins of a Solar Empire. This update brings Sins of a Solar Empire to v1.18 and Sins: Entrechment to v1.04. A good part of this update was feedback that was given from the community via forums and in-game play.

Aside from the numerous bug fixes, this update focuses on balance improvements and gameplay tweaks.

I wish the game had a little better performance for large maps. As it stands, my Core i7 can't handle 8x on a decent sized map. It skips and stutters along. It pegs one core at 13%, maybe some multithreading would help?

I tried the demo a while ago, I could not get into it, it seems very "slow" (not performance). Like a game could take 2 or 3 hours to complete.

Is this still the case? Was gameplay tweaked?

I love games like SupCom, C&C, Dawn of War ...etc.

Its a pretty good patch so far, really liking the boosts to cap ship carriers. I play Advent so I'm really liking the fact my carrier now maxes at 11 squadrons of strike craft (8 base + 3 from ship abilities), its great for hit and runs, 11 bomber squads jump into a system, blow up a building, and warp out,

Epic game, only recently got into it properly and just love the scale involved! You can fire a "space-nuke" cannon between star systems, so awesome...

Anyway heres hoping it runs a little easier on very large maps now, was a dog at the mid-late section of each game.
