Gaming news round-up: November 3

It was another busy day for game news. Let's go over the highlights:

Call of Duty Elite delayed for PC - Activision has announced that Call of Duty Elite, the stats tracking service for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, will be delayed for PC owners and will also be "re-imagined" for the PC platform. There's no word on when the PC version will launch

Gameforge layoffs confirmed - The free-to-play game developer and publisher has announced layoffs that affect 20 percent of its team members. Its current CEO is also leaving. It will shut down at least two of its games, Mythos and Hellbreed, and its plans for Star Trek: Infinite Space could also be affected.

Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition announced - A new version of 2010's post-apocalypse RPG will ship on February 7, 2012 and will contain the original game plus all of the post-release DLC content.

Ridge Racer Unbounded gets release date - The latest game in the long running arcade racing series from Namco Bandai will be released on March 6, 2012.

Sanctum Free Weekend - You can play the tower defense game via Steam for free until Sunday; the full version is also being sold for just $4.99 for this weekend only.

Upcoming BioWare game to be revealed in December - BioWare's next game will be revealed on December 10 as part of the annual Spike TV Video Game Awards. The show will also feature a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Rising and the first trailer for the next Alan Wake game.

Call of Duty Elite delayed for PC - Uh oh, here they go shafting the master race as usual...

Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition announced - Might check it out again when this comes out. I didn't like it as much as Fallout 3, but maybe all the DLC added on could change that.

Ridge Racer Unbounded gets release date - Call me Mr. Pessimist, but I think this game is destined to fail. And as a big Ridge Racer fan, that makes me sad. Don't get me wrong, I like Bugbear; the FlatOut series is awesome. But I just feel like they're ruining the tradition of Ridge Racer. It's going from crazy high-speed drifting in exotic locations to essentially Bugbear's take on Split Second. I would have preferred if it was called "FlatOut 4"; still would have been a bit disappointed, but nowhere as much as this.

Sanctum Free Weekend - I bought this the last time it was on sale; it's a nice unique concept, a FPS tower defence game.

Upcoming BioWare game to be revealed in December - Now this should be interesting. Just please don't let it be another Dragon Age! I'd prefer the long-rumoured Mass Effect MMO, or even a new Star Wars KOTOR game over Dragon Age.

There are very few GOOD general racing games out. I could never really get into Gran Turismo because of its intricacy. Crusin Exotica is mindless fun so Im hoping this new Ridge Racer game will fall between Crusin & Turismo.
