With E3 2011 now just about a week away, the big game publishers are all revving up to showcase their big games for the fall and into 2012. Microsoft's biggest Xbox 360 exclusive game for 2011 is certainly Gears of War 3 and now a new trailer for developer Epic Games' latest title in the sci-fi third person shooter series has been released. That trailer shows off some of the game's single player campaign.
The trailer, which you can check out below, shows off more of the human COG forces going after various enemies of the Locust persuasion. Oh, and you can hear some classic Ozzy and Black Sabbath in the background. It's clear that the game will continue to have all of the over-the-top action than the previous games have had, with big guns, big creatures to shoot, and big action set pieces.
Gears of War 3 was first announced in the spring of 2010 and was supposed to have been released in April 2011. However Microsoft, perhaps wisely, decided later on to delay the release of the game until the fall of 2011. Epic Games recently completed a multiplayer beta for Gears of War 3 and Microsoft also announced not too long ago that Gears of War 3 has already generated over 1 million sales via pre-orders. Fans of the series also have a chance to order two addition versions of the game, the Limited and Epic editions. Gears of War 3 is currently scheduled to be released worldwide on September 20.
