German court ruled GPL valid

A hardware manufacturer Sitecom loses round one of the court battle after the German court ruled the GPL (General Public License) license as valid.

The German court issued a preliminary injunction against Sitecom's router after the company were found to be using software from the Netfilter/IPTable project but failed to comply with the GPL license. The timing couldn't be better for the Open Source community as this ruling, to some extend, could serve as an "In your face, buddy!" to SCO and other companies who challenges the legal validity of the GPL license.

We do not have much information of the ruling yet as the documents were written in German. The English translation is being worked on and we will bring you the update as soon as we learned something new.
