Giveaway: Nokia Lumia 520, thanks to MobiCity! [Update: Winner Re-drawn!]

As we alluded to in our review of the device, the Nokia Lumia 520 is an extremely good device for the low price they're available for. For just $150 (in the United States) you get a solidly built design, decent display, very good performance for the price and all the benefits of Nokia's exclusive Windows Phone apps and services. It's probably the best value for money smartphone you can get right now.

Thanks to the wonderful guys over at MobiCity.com.au, who have provided numerous phones for our reviews here at Neowin, we've got a Lumia 520 to give away to one of our lucky readers! It's a yellow model, brand new and sealed in the box with 3G HSPA+ on the 900/2100 bands.

This giveaway is a little bit different to the giveaways we've run previously on Neowin: We're using a PunchTab widget below which allows you to gain extra entries to this competition through a range of methods, for example if you follow Neowin on Twitter you'll get an extra entry to our giveaway.

This Lumia 520 giveaway is open to anyone worldwide, and will end on June 10, 2013, at noon GMT. After the giveaway has ended we'll randomly draw one winner and then contact them either via email or Facebook (depending on their method of entry), and they'll have 24 hours to respond before we draw another winner. As always check out our giveaway terms and conditions for more info, and the widget below will guide you through ways to gain extra entries.

The giveaway widget will load below, although it may take a few seconds to appear.

Here are a few other things to note about our giveaway here:

  • By entering via email address you agree to receive MobiCity's weekly newsletter, although you are welcome to unsubscribe later
  • This giveaway does not require you to be a Neowin member, although by providing your username you will be granted one (1) extra entry
  • Commenting does not give you an extra entry; it's completely optional for this giveaway
  • You can gain several extra entries by following/liking various Neowin and MobiCity pages. If you have already liked or followed these accounts, you may need to unlike/unfollow and re-like/re-follow to get the entry.
  • There are a maximum of nine ways you can enter, each giving you one (1) entry: you get an entry initially through either email or Facebook, and there are eight extra ways to enter.
  • If you refer people through the links you share on Facebook and Twitter you will gain extra entries.

Good luck to everyone!

Update: The giveaway is over, and Peter Chaplin has come away with the Lumia 520. Check your email Peter (and perhaps your spam box too) for instructions on how to claim your free Windows Phone!

Update 2: Peter didn't get back to me within the 24 hour time period required, so we re-drew a winner, and Jean-Paul Phan is the new owner of a Lumia 520. Check your email/spam folder and get back to me to claim the phone!

It's cool. I've read and watch so many review about this phone. And all of it says that Lumia 520 is a best phone at it's level. It can play Asphalt 7 smoothly! also, integrated with Microsoft Office! all that i need is available on this phone. I hope i can win this Lumia 520!

Good luck everyone. I'm excited about the opportunity to win a Windows phone. It's an experience I'd love to try. And a platform I'd love to develop.

I got 4 entries out of a total of 11k. hope to win it and give it to a random person on the street to convert them to windows phone.

I like the software and the usability of this very affordable device. It features great apps and services and has many built in features. But, the screen isn't worth being built into a Lumia and the storage management really needs to be improved by Microsoft.

very impressive, in terms of look and really attractive price
some of my friends are already using the nokia lumia 520. they are very happy to have it, because of the advantages and features it has is remarkable. I even wanted to have her, but I do not have the money to have it
hopefully win my favor.

A while has been since I commented on anything… this seems worth it… I wonder what would I do with a 520… use it? Sell it? Blend it? Torture it? Love it? Hack it? Install Windows RT on it? In any case I think I would record a video and upload it to YouTube…

Oh and btw HI

Neowin and MobiCity - This is awesome. Nice Giveaway
Good luck to everyone!
Hope the Navi "HERE Drive" is Global to use

this widget is flawed.. I already entered once but it does not showed me that I entered but when I entered my info using mail again then it showed 2 entries.. WTF!! Now I am disqualified.

My friend got a 620, and I have to say that for a low end device, it's actually really, *really* nice. I bet the 5xx is also exceptional.

Oh man, nearly 3,000 entries, forget it. Might as well continue with my goal towards the iPhone 5s unlocked I plan to get this later this year.

I've entered the contest and I hope that I win.
I own a 920 myself but I enter this because my poor dad has a very old phone that only supports GSM and GPRS. My dad's phone is a Sony Ericsson phone with the old proprietary operating system and a tiny color display.
Windows Phone would be the best smartphone OS for my dad, he likes simplicity. He really needs a new phone!

Raa said,
Finally no forced social networking requirement, that's great news

Couldn't agree more! The constant requiremt to use social networking to enter competitions, get updates, support, whatever, does my head in. Just because I find social networking a waste of time I'm constanty disadvataged

As this is a HSPA+ only phone it wouldn't work on Verizon's CDMA network. But you're welcome to enter the giveaway anyway
