Google Mobile App now available on Windows Phones

Google has launched its Google Mobile App for Windows Phones. Google Mobile App for Windows Mobile include Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, Picasa Web Albums and Google Sync Beta, with instant access to Google Search and all of these products accessed from one place.

Windows Mobile users can now use Google Mobile App instead of using a browser to do Google Search. Google promises to get search results for identical queries nearly 50% faster from Google Mobile App than from navigating to Google webpage in your mobile browser.

You can access Google Mobile App from the Today screen without having to wait for a browser to open to begin a search and you can select your 'search term' from recent search history to reduce typing. You can also map the app to a preferred hot key. Pocket PC users can add the Google Mobile App to the start menu or configure a hardware key to provide easy access from within any application on your phone.

Google Mobile App will work on Windows devices in the US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain and is also available for iPhone, iPod touch and BlackBerry devices.

It just looks horrible! It doesn't blend in with the today screen and it doesn't work in synch with the rest of the items on the screen. You click on it to expand and instead of expanding downwards, the bar just moves to the top of the screen! Who on the Google planet thought this is a good implementation!?

By the way, the previous search bar for the today screen from Google was a lot better.

Yeah, that is beyond odd. Google programs are usually pretty nicely done, but this is just stupid!
