Google Nexus 4 to be exclusive to O2 for a month in the UK

For one month, the Google Nexus 4 will be exclusive to O2 when it launches in the UK in the middle of November and if you’re looking at getting the phone on another carrier’s price plans then you’ll have to hold out until mid-December at the earliest.

It should be noted that the last time O2 had any exclusive deal was when the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS launched. One has to wonder whether the Nexus 4 will do justice just as well.

To seal the deal of the first lucky consumers, LG has promised to give away one of its TVs to the first 100 buyers of the handset.

For a device sporting a 1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 4.7-inch HD display, 8MP camera and running the cleanest version of Google's mobile platform, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean; users shouldn't fret, as we feel the SIM-free model is a no-brainer purchase for people looking to buy a new high-end Android device whilst keeping their existing SIMs. The handset of the 8GB model will cost £239 and the 16GB will still cost a very reasonable £279.

can you really call it a carrier exclusive when google will be selling it unlocked?

A guess when the only carrier selling it is O2 then you can? Although I get your point, anyone who wants it on a different carrier will just buy it from Google

I'm glad that at least Google are selling it unlocked. These "carrier exclusives" are the most idiotic scheme they've ever come up with.

The back of this phone looks awful! Cheap and tacky!

Nothing tops cheap than Samsung's use of ****ty plastic. I can almost guarantee the plastic used for this device will feel better.

Isn't it glass on the back? If it is, it'll feel better.

leaked info yesterday showed that a 64gb nexus 10 is coming so i reckon these could get a 8>16 and 16>32gb free upgrade within a few months like they did with the nexus 7.

Tegra 4 is out in Q1 2013 so i'm holding out for a replacement for this phone with a tegra 4 as the graphics and quad cortex a15 will be incredibly fast.
