Google, Salesforce Tie Up With Apps

In a move seen as a "take that Microsoft" deal, Google and Salesforce padded out a current collaboration deal by integrating its Google Apps within Salesforce.

Salesforce clients have a little something extra with their morning CRM. The addition of Google Apps to Salesforce neatly tucks in Gmail and the other Google applications inside the software as a service business application.

Salesforce already had a Google AdWords management component in place as part of their previous dealings with Google, laying the groundwork for this newest announcement.

I've said it before, when Google can produce a web-app that matches the functionality and fidelity of a client-side solution, then maybe I will give it a go, but Google Docs just doesn't match Office.

I've just tried Google Apps for my university, it's not really that impressive, it's just iGoogle + Google Docs that corporations can use. Something I use without "Google Apps" anyway :confused:

Am I missing something?

Stick to what you do best Google. Let Microsoft handle what they do best. If you insist on competing then give them some real competition at least.

Good point. When it comes to lucrative licensing schemes, MS can't be beat.
