Grandma and Grandpa try to stop China Surface event

Microsoft held a Surface launch even in Beijing, China at midnight on Friday local time, allowing the country to be one of the first places in the world to buy the new tablet. However, things at the event apparently got a little out of hand for one elderly couple. A video has been posted of the festivities, which shows that the two senior citizens stormed the stage of the Surface launch event as dancers continued to work the platform.

MicGadget.com reports that the couple was complaining that the noise generated by Microsoft's Surface event was disturbing their grandchildren's sleep. As you can see in the video, the couple was removed, rather forcibly, from the stage by security personnel. Some of the dancers on stage try to ignore what's going on around them.

The incident does seem to get ugly quickly and we hope that the couple was not hurt by the security employees, even if they were acting as if this event was the worst possible thing that could have happened to them.

As we reported earlier this week, Microsoft is working with China-based electronics retailer Suning to sell Surface tablets in 500 of Suning's stores. Microsoft and Suning are also selling the Windows RT tablet on their respective store websites in China.
