Guild Wars 2 stress test to be held on Wednesday

If you have already bought your copy of Guild Wars 2, you will soon have a chance to check out a pre-release version of the game for a few hours on Wednesday, June 27th. Developer ArenaNet and publisher NCsoft will hold a stress test for the upcoming fantasy MMO on that day, from 10 am to 2 pm Pacific time (that's 1-5 pm Eastern time).

ArenaNet states, "We won’t wipe characters for this event, so if you played in our previous betas, you can pick up right where you left off. All we need you to do is log in and have fun—leave the stress to us!"

As we have reported before, there are three versions of Guild Wars 2 that are available to purchase.  All three versions will allow people to gain access to all of the planned weekend beta tests for Guild Wars 2, along with a three day head start when the game is officially launched later in 2012. There will also be an exclusive in-game item, the Hero's Band.

The $59.99 digital edition comes with just the game but the $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition also comes with five more exclusive in-game items. The massive $149.99 retail Collector's Edition of Guild Wars 2 also has a 10 inch figurine of one of the game's main characters, Rytlock Brimstone. There's also a 112 page book that goes behind the scenes of the making of the game, along with a art portfolio, five art prints, a custom art frame and a Best of Guild Wars 2 soundtrack CD.
