Hackers responsible for the recent security breach at Sony Pictures have stolen and leaked a version of the screenplay to the next James Bond movie known as "Spectre". Producers of the James Bond films made the discovery Saturday morning, stating it was among the materials stolen and made public by hackers who infiltrated computers at the Sony Studio.
Hackers had originally launched an attack on Sony Pictures on November 24th of this year, warning that they gained access to sensitive company information which would be publicly disclosed if demands weren't met; the identity of the hackers is still unknown.
According to a Sony spokesman, news reports that the attack forced the studio to stop productions on films, including "Spectre", are wrong and that productions are still moving forward as planned.
Eon Productions, a British film production company known for producing the James Bond film series, made the following statement, while warning that the script is is protected by copyright laws in the U.K.
"Eon Productions is concerned that third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents"
Filming for the new movie has just gotten underway after producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes unveiled the title and cast, but said little about the plot.
"Spectre" is due out in theaters on November 6th, 2015.
