Have the iPad Mini Euro models and prices been outed?

Apple hasn't even admitted to developing a smaller version of its iPad, but if you believe the rumors, the company could reveal the device sometime later in October. Now a website claims they have gotten a list of the models and prices of the iPad Mini.

German-based Mobile Geeks says they received a leaked list of the iPad Mini models from an inventory list that comes from German retailer Media Markt. There's no word if this is authentic but if true, it shows that the Euro-based models of the iPad Mini will be as follows:

  • 249 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 8 GB WLAN
  • 349 Euros: Apple iPad mini 8 GB WLAN and UMTS
  • 349 Euros: Apple iPad Mini 16 GB Wi-Fi
  • 449 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 16 GB Wi-Fi and UMTS
  • 449 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 32 GB Wi-Fi
  • 549 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 32 GB Wi-Fi and UMTS
  • 549 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 64 GB Wi-Fi
  • 649 Euro: Apple iPad Mini 64 GB Wi-Fi and UMTS

Again, these prices are for the Euro; it's more than possible that Apple could have a different pricing scheme in mind for the US, Canada and the UK, especially if the iPad Mini sold by wireless providers is subsidized like their smartphones.

Wow, those prices are really high. I bought a Nexus and was considering another tablet for a dad. an iPad Mini was one of them but definitely not at this price.

Google is/will be selling the Nexus 7 16 GB for €250 in the Netherlands. The iPad mini's larger screen, most likely a rear camera and A6 processor could make up for the lower amount of memory.

8Gb at 250 is horrible. I can see 200$ and if the photos I see on the web there is no rear camera. So this is like the Ipad1 but smaller.

I have the 16Gb ipad2 and I run out of room with a few movies so that would have to be a minimum.

So far I haven't seen any rumors that stated the iPad mini won't have a rear camera.

last week there were RUMOR shots of the rear of it. No camera spot. Again not saying it fact just what i saw on engadget.

Apple is clearly not the company we knew couple of years ago. Seems like there isn't a single person who can keep a secret. First the iPhone 5 and now this.

They have to manufacture products on a scale now that is orders of magnitude larger than it was a couple of years ago. It's hard to keep a new product a secret when you have to start mass production of millions of units a month in advance.

I think the leaks are really hurting Apple, they still can gather lots of hype for their keynotes but it's not what it used to be (yes I know Steve is a factor but I think the leaks are hurting the keynotes even more)

The only other serious option is releasing a product but starting manufacturing only after it's been announced, meaning people are going to have to wait even longer to get one (which is actually far worse). When a product needs to have millions of units ready on day one, you only need one to leak.

And I don't think leaks hurt them. Each product outsells the previous one. And probably the best problem to have is people not wanting to buy your current product because they desperately want the next one.

Valid point. But how come Samsung managed to keep their Galaxy S3 a secret till the announcement date? I believe they even kept the Note 2 under the wraps as well. I believe those are produced in a mass as well right?

That's the thing I was worried about as well. That hype which was back in the day isn't the same now. If you can remember even though the iPhone 4 leaked Steve managed to spice up the keynote as if it didn't leak. I think Apple needs a person like Steve with the showmanship.

For those of you who actually want a price conversion 249 Euros is $322
Yes but if you go to apple's german store it looks like the prices are 1 to 1 with the US prices (almost). So it could mean the mini iPad will be priced around $249 US

Wow Apple must be smoking something wonderful. I can't wait for this to be Apple's biggest flop since Ping.

Do you really think this would flop? I'm willing to bed, even at those prices, they sell by the metric crapload.

How much is a full size iPad 64GB Wi-Fi only tablet in comparison? Those prices seem awfully high...

Edit: Just checked Italy's Apple site where they sell the iPad 64GB Wi-Fi tablet for 679.....So a 30 Euro difference in price? Apple is seriously retarded....

$699.

I agree that these prices seem strange. 4 different storage sizes, all available in WiFi and Cellular options as well as two colors seems a bit strange and cluttered.

I wouldn't be surprised to see just 16GB and 32GB options.

I think it will be around 8GB and 32GB most probably since its the iPad Mini and aimed at the budget market.

Oh I don't doubt it. However, in Europe at least...the pricing seems horribly miss-aligned. Doesn't provide much hope for the NA prices. Of course we all know it won't matter, Apple sheep will still flock

It's a 130 euro difference. iPad Mini 64GB Wi-Fi only is listed as 549.

My bad. I was looking at the Wi-Fi + UMTS one in that list. That pricing difference makes better sense now.

When it comes to apple there is no such thing as "budget market".
