HP reveals pricing for more Windows 8 PCs

HP has been busy revealing its plans for a large lineup of Windows 8 PCs for the past several weeks. Today, the company revealed the pricing and the launch dates for many of those Windows 8 products, but not all of them will make the Windows 8 launch date on Friday.

One of them that's listed in HP's press release is the HP Envy X2, the 11.6 inch "Clover Trail" tablet, with an optional keyboard dock. It won't be ready until November 14th and HP will start the pricing at $849.99.

HP will also wait until sometime in December to launch the HP SpectreXT TouchSmart Ultrabook, the 15.6 inch notebook with a touch screen display. Its starting price will be $1,399. Another touch screen-based HP notebook, the ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4, is now available for sale and can be yours for a starting price of $799.99.

Two HP all-in-one desktop PCs, the HP ENVY 23 and ENVY 20 TouchSmart, are now available for sale, both with multitouch monitors with prices starting at $999 and $799, respectively. You can check out HP's press release for their full list of Windows 8 PCs that will be released in the next couple of months.

In terms of the pricing of the HP Envy X2 "Clover Trail" tablet, I prefer to wait until Microsoft releases more info on the Surface Pro.

$849 may be quite competitive.

Classic example of why Microsoft made the Surface. Most of these OEMs just pull parts from their parts bin and call it a new Windows machine. For someone as big as HP who is a hardware company, I don't see why they can't have their line ready for launch. Not that I am I am going to buy them but it shows why Microsoft has been so frustrated.

wow. they did a great job with the envy x2. great build quality, plenty of ports, but wwaaaaay too expensive. and the touchsmart is cheaper and it is intel core i5??? they are crazy

The ENVYx2 is undoubtably the worst thing I have EVER seen !!!
They took a tablet and then put it together with a NORMAL laptop keyboard .....what is revolutioary about that ??? .......Absolutely nothing.

They're smoking crack with that tablet. I'd rate it lower than other Windows 8 tablets that are almost half the price! Where did they source the LCD panels from? Did they buy some cheap chinese Android tablets and harvest them?

It is a full computer, unless I'm reading this wrong. The keyboard dock being optional at that price is a bit reaching, but the price is right for what you're getting... assuming construction is up to par.
