HTC One X and One S to get Jellybean starting October

Good news, everyone! HTC has confirmed that their high-end One X and mid-range One S devices will begin getting their updates to Jellybean this month at an event today.

At the unveil event for the HTC One X+ today, Graham Wheeler, director of product management at HTC, told the media that the Jellybean OS update for the two One series devices will take place during the last few months of 2012.

The devices will also get an update (at the same time) to the latest version of HTC's UI; Sense 4+. This will bring the UI in line across all three devices, creating a consistent experience for consumers.

Whilst those dates are tantalising, we suggest taking them with a grain of salt. Carriers are likely to want to "test" the updates for compatibility, so many of us likely won't see the update until November or even December. But hey, there's always the hacking scene, right?

I wont buy an android phone to run stock when AOKP is 100x better. No 'stock' OS on a mobile device is good enough for me. iOS is just utter crap, Android is slow on stock, and WP..not sure..guess well see!

No word on 4.1 for the One V?

Not yet, HTC have only confirmed the X, XL and S as getting updated. No other models have been mentioned yet.

and Samsung is pushing out Jelly Bean for the S3, yet they still can't be arsed releasing it for the carrier locked Galaxy Nexus models. What is the point of the Nexus line again? next time I'm just getting a mainstream Android phone, will get the updates faster me thinks

NOTE: Yes I'm aware the carrier unlocked Galaxy Nexus phones were the first to be updated to Jelly Bean, which is fine and dandy when you can afford to buy it outright..but that is part of the problem, there should be only one version of the Nexus updated by Google, none of this different models nonsense </rant>

Damn you HTC, my Sensation will probably never get it unless I do the ole' customized ROM. Pity as hardware wise its just fine to run it.

I'm running Jelly Bean on my Sensation right now and have been for well over a month. Works brilliantly... being able to install it without having to wait for carriers and hardware makers to roll it out is kind of the beauty of Android. Freedom.

I know about the AOSP/AOKP builds but I need the front facing camera to work . I might wait until CM10 comes out for the Sensation and do an update for it.
