Inside the Windows 8 NYC launch event - Pictures

We are now inside Pier 57 in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and, to no one's surprise, we also got to check out a ton of different Windows 8 devices that will be coming from Microsoft's third party OEM partners.

Dell, HP, Asus, Acer, Samsung, Lenovo, and Sony were all showcasing their devices to the press in the Windows 8 launch event reception area. We got a chance to play with a bunch of these devices  Wednesday, at a separate press event in New York City, so be sure to check out our impressions of many of these products in either articles that we have already posted or are coming later today.

Microsoft is holding a keynote right now at Pier 57 where Windows' head man, Steven Sinofsky, and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, are revealing more information about the Windows 8 launch. They might also chat a bit about the Surface tablet, which was not shown during the first reception event for the media launch today.

The big question? Does Microsoft have any surprises left for us for the Windows 8 launch? And will Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates make an appearance. We will live blog the keynote event very soon.

I would appreciate this, I'm looking forward to buy one. Despite the price, the specs are very nice including the 3G/4G connectivity
