The only con about this downloader, is that you can't start watching a video as it downloads as you can with other downloaders.

what others do you use?

I use to like flashget until it went to poo. Now I also use free download manager. if you are downloading a video file with free download manager you have to show hidden files in the download location then you can start watching it as it downloads, obviously the video might jump around but it does work.
