It appears that the iPad 2 rumors must have gone stale, as iPad 3 rumors have begun circling the web. The latest, and first, iPad 3 rumor is that it will land sometime this fall. This information seems very skeptical because the iPad 2 hasn't even hit retail shelves yet, it falls outside Apple's traditional business model, and it seems far too early to start speculating at this point.
But according to TechCrunch and Daring Fireball, both are citing information that relates to an iPad 3 and it will land this fall. According to Daring Fireball;
Summer feels like a long time away. If my theory is right, they're not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3. And not only did they announce this with a distant ship date, they did it with no word on pricing.
So if you take that information and then link it up to what TechCrunch is now reporting, you get the iPad possibly landing this fall. TechCrunch states;
We've now heard that this “fall surprise” is related to this would-be iPad 3. We don't have any more concrete information beyond that. But, as of right now, the plan is apparently to release one iteration of the iPad in the next few weeks. And then blow the doors open with another new version in the fall.
Usually if one person cites a source, it's easy to pass off, but two well respected sites are now stating that they have heard of the iPad 3 coming in the Fall. Coincidence, could they have the same source, we really don't know? It seems a bit far fetched, but, its not outside the realm of possibility.
