iTunes 11.3.1

iTunes is a free application for Mac and PC. It plays all your digital music and video. It syncs content to your iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV. And it's an entertainment superstore that stays open 24/7.

  • Organize your music into playlists
  • Edit file information
  • Record compact discs
  • Copy files to an iPod or other digital audio player
  • Purchase music and videos on the Internet through the built-in iTunes store
  • Run a visualizer to display graphical effects in time to the music
  • Encode music into a number of different audio formats.

What's new in this version:

  • iTunes 11.3.1 addresses a problem where subscribed podcasts may stop updating with new episodes and resolves an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive while browsing your podcasts episodes in a list.

My wife has an ipod and uses this. I myself do not own any Apple products but use this for my music and burning cd's

Today will hopefully be my last day with iTunes, my Nokia Icon is being delivered today to replace my iPhone 4s.

Latest update causes iTunes to become unresponsive and crash immediately after launching. Running Windows 7, SP1 x64. Complete uninstall and reinstall did not fix the issue. Had to revert to the previous 11.3.0 version to resolve the issue.

Have you actually used it? Compared to 10, 11 is at least three times better. I use it exclusively and have never had serious issues.

yes. for each of the 3 ipods that i had so far. not saying it is not a good software... only that it is too much stuff in it. and the only good solution to sync the apple products

I wasn't actually commenting on your post, but yeah, I do agree that it has far too much stuff in it.

But as I don't use any actual Apple products, any time I update iTunes I just manually install AppleApplicationSupport.msi and iTunes64.msi through cmd, and it's infinitely faster and lower on resources. I encode all my music to their AAC codec, so it's basically all I need for music - and podcasts, too. I haven't experienced the aforementioned bug so far, but I'm glad it's been fixed.

iTunes is like IE, too many people talk s**t about it when they haven't used it in forever - if at all.

Is there a Windows user that does not despise this piece of garbage. Apple needs to rewrite it from scratch.

I use it actually and have absolutely no problems with it. Microsoft's Xbox music app is complete joke and Zune is unfortunately long gone (used to use it before). Tried several of the free/open source alternatives but they all seem very unpolished and unpleasant to use. I am looking forward to the next major release with more flat and simple design. Should fit in better with Windows 8.x as well.

Wouldn't it be better if Apple made iTunes web-based like the Google Play Store?

Have you tried MusicBee?

it is available for WP 7-7.8 users and some specific windows configurations:
"If you're using a version of Windows XP earlier than Service Pack 3 and the Zune software won't install, try downloading Windows XP SP3"

I always wished that they made an "iTunes Lite" version, where I can just use it to manage media (music, movies, etc) on my iPod. Its the most intuitive interface for doing so, but I use it for nothing else. A "Lite" version would be very much appreciated :)
