That IS the point, and here we acknowledge morality but also, I believe, intelligence.

Intelligence in the fact, but as always ethics is double-sided between the aim and the sincerity, in the fact that a user may consider what is not deliberate as a sign of quality.

In fact, as always, methods follow what is perceived as the general scheme : be aware and your opponent will handle it. Stay aware, then.

IZArc handle a lot of formats that 7zip can't and if I remember well IZArc was before 7zip, so no, IZArc is not a 7zip clone.

IZArc itself is a good application, at least in it's 4.1.7 version : the latest 4.1.8 crashed at the end of install, crashed when trying to run it as well. Had to remove and re-install 4.1.7

Moreover, if previous 4.1.7 called OpenCandy craps, this 4.1.8 (before crashing !) added a "SeetIM" as an option, always in an ambiguous form. Click I agree (that means for IZArc install) and then you have a fast pop-up to accept or deny "SweetIM" : TAKE CARE to DENY! (unless you really like craps).

Gosh, what a pity to have such a nice application be damaged in it's install procedure by the "added external advised scum" which is growing on more and more freeware, and perhaps reflects what point of indignity some companies reach in order to make a living.

If those bundled craps were by default, unchecked/denied/unticked instead of checked/ticked, then maybe there wouldn't be an issue.

There is sizable load of other software offerings piggypagging on this one's installer (OpenCandy? Not sure.) Do read the installer prompts carefully.
