L.A. Noire Launch Trailer released

The full Official Launch Trailer for L.A. Noire has been released and reveals evidence uncovered on the Vice desk, and hints of a trail of corruption leading from drug dealers on the streets of Los Angeles to the highest offices of the LAPD. The trailer shows the highly praised graphics engine off well alongside subtle hints of the cases you will be able to take part in.

The first of eight prose short stories based on the upcoming crime action game L.A. Noire are also now available for free download.

Rockstar's last major release was Red Dead Redemption, which not only received excellent reviews; it went on to sell millions of copies around the world. While L.A. Noire will be based around solving crimes and watching for lying criminal’s reactions, it will have less action than some of the company’s previous games. L.A. Noire will also feature less sandbox style features than the companies other titles, though the whole city can be roamed around at your leisure.

L.A. Noire has been over 5 years in developments and was originally planned to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. It promises a blend of action, detection and complex storytelling as part of an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders in Los Angeles.

L.A. Noire will be available on May 20 in the UK and May 17 in America for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I'll be defiantly picking this one up on 360.. but PC is obviously the preferred way to play this game.

Perhaps if it was on PC.

Looks great and I will be picking this up on launch day Seeing as the PS3 is still pretty useless as a gaming console at this point this is a def 360 purchase for me.

This isn't a online game, PSN will be back up before this comes out, and the engine was designed for the PS3. If you have a ps3, it would be your best choice for it.

Everyone said the same for all of their past games as well and it was even said that Bulletstorm was going to be better on the PS3 and none of them have been better IMO.

All the footage so far has been PS3. Another advantage is that you get the game on one disc rather than three.

I'm a 360 user, but lets face it, this game was designed as a ps3 exclusive. The systems graphical capabilities are great and it will definitely show. I feel like most of the games that have come out from rockstar have been catered towards the xbox360, but ps3 will have its turn.

We will see Tuesday, I doubt there will be any huge differences. I wish someone would release a review of the game comparing the system differences. I personally don't care about the "3 discs" problem either.

This will be a must have for any PS3 owner. The engine was first designed for PS3, so this should be one of the best games to come out this year for it, as long as the game play is as good as the facial animations.

Why no PC version?

I feel like this game needs a standard for hardware capability. I would imagine it would be a pain in their *** to come up with varying graphics levels on a game who's main selling point is graphics so intensive you read facial expressions as part of the gameplay.

There may be a port. There's been ports of most of their other games to PC but given there hasn't been any news on Red Dead Redemption, who knows?

Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption and now this. What the hell is going on? No PC version for my most wanted games.
Sometimes I hope for consoles to die. They prevent PC gamers from getting some good games just because publishers don't approve and they f***ing keep the games back on graphics front.

Hard to know why other than piracy. PC gamers are missing out on some great titles recently, a real shame.

Not just piracy, but also demand. That was one of the reasons there hasn't been any college football/basketball games on the PC since the late 90s.

Piracy? Demand? Let's also add the amount of work it requires just to get the game to a playable state for everyone.

Looking at the efforts they put into GTAIV (which did push the game into a playable state for myself), I can certainly see why we didn't get Red Dead Redemption.

Same old as others.
Actually, it looks to be pretty unique and groundbreaking. Look up the facial recording tech they're using here, it's pretty impressive, a lot better than this trailer makes it appear. I think they need to release a better trailer.
