Leaked Windows 8.1 9477 build converted to English

Yesterday we broke the news that Windows 8.1 build 9477 had leaked on the internet. Though we’ve already seen higher build numbers, this version was rumored to be the RTM one. There was one problem with the image that was leaked though, it was in Chinese.

Now, the same tipster and Neowin community member that first mentioned the leak, FaiKee, has announced that the Chinese edition has been converted to English so there’s a En-US ISO going around now. This might be the last leaked version we see before the full-on RTM one, as tomorrow is Windows 8.1's last day of internal testing at Microsoft.

Windows 8.1 brings many changes and improvements to Microsoft’s operating system. Even though there’s an official preview available, these leaked builds are much more recent and feature more and newer changes. However, we have a strong policy against posting unofficial sources for such things so if you’re really curious to see what’s new you can either do some digging or simply read our previous articles.

Thanks FaiKee for the tip and thanks Tuhin12 for the image!

Someone made Windows Explorer 7 to work on Windows 8:

It does not load the metro part and thus saving loads of memory and CPU makes the system way faster, while including everything missing from the start menu to the handy little extras we are used to!

It doesn't make the system faster. I wonder how long it'll be before people stop spending so much time making and using these stupid hacks to bring the start menu back.

Until they actually try and learn how to use Metro.

You know, in Windows 9, because since it's not 8, it's a lot better!

It can save you 'dozens' of MB of RAM according to the post. I mean seriously. Does anyone care? If your computer has 8GB or 8192MB of RAM. Are you really going to hack your Explorer into something unstable and incompatible that will save you like 36MB or around .5%?

If you really hate the Start screen that much, just install Start8. Don't hack critical Windows files.

It makes the system faster. Many people are using lower computers. Also i can hack it because i know what i am doing and to "hack critical Windows files" which you believe is bad is actually good thing and makes brings many benefits.

LOL, it's done by swapping some system language files with 9471, but buggy as hell: no pc settings, no type-on-screen-and search, some apps just crash, tiny CMD window....... ,

Do we need to hear this on EVERY Windows 8 news item? You hate Windows 8 on the desktop, your choice and that's great. But come on, its been a year now, lay it to rest and live life.

I've installed 9477 converted to English.
Search button from the right doesn't work. Could not install IIS. So these was enough to kill it
