Live services hit with outage system wide

Update: All systems are back up and running

Many users have been locked out of their accounts as problems with users inbox's seem to be inaccessible by any means. The problem appears to be system wide, as Microsoft reports on Twitter, stating "@MesaPink The issue will be resolved shortly sorry for the inconveinvce. It is system wide."

Users are unable to access their inbox, as they attempt to login, they are given the error "You don't have an inbox...yet"

Some others users are reporting login problems with logging into Windows Live Messenger, giving them an error "We can't sign you into Windows Live Messenger". As the situation develops, more users are stating problems with more and more Live services.

Well I don't think it's entirely "up" yet. I've been trying to buy a Microsoft Technet Plus Direct subscription all day and when I try to sign in to my live ID it fails - unknown error.

I never thought that parting with money would be so difficult, but Windows Live has always been a p.i.t.a. as far as I'm concerned.

is this related to the 'you need to change your email address' problem?

It is not, asked a few devs for Windows Live Messenger who confirmed that it isn't.

Had the same problem.Loged out and then logged in at the same time, Bingo. it worked , I thought someone has done serious bussiness with my mail account :P

It really hurts when you really want to use Messenger and have found the exact same day and time to chat after months.

This is a first from the 5 months I've been using Live. As long as my SkyDrive ain't touched, I am okay with this temporary outage.

edit: its back up again!!! :-D

Hah. Thought it was Mail.app acting up, then thought someone hacked my account for a second but asked myself "who and why?"

I knew I'd find something regarding this on Neowin ;)

Would they be upgrading something or just encountering problems?

I'd say problems. They'd tell us if it was upgrades, I think
