At their CES Press Conference, Sony Introduced the Webbie HD Camera. With it's bright color schemes and playful marketing, Sony are definitely marketing the camera towards a younger demographic, urging them to "Upload your life."

Although they did not mention resolution at the conference, I checked their website for the product and it lists it's resolution at 1440 x 1080. It includes PMB Portable Software for quick content upload to popular video and photo sharing websites. The camera has MPEG-4 support, s 2.5 " LCD screen with a 270 degree swivel, 5x Zoom, and is capable of taking 5 Megapixel still images. No surprise, it will use Memory Stick PRO Duo™ media cards for storage.

The Webbie will be available tonight at www.sonystyle.com for $200. Come Spring a lower-end model will be available for $169.99 and is available for pre-order on the Sony Style website.

More info about The Webbie can be found at www.sonystyle.com

Got Flip Mino some time ago... love it.

This Sony thing... looks a bit big and clunky for the on-the-go pocket video camera. Optical zoom and resolution though... sweet.

So I want that lens on that other, lower-end model.
