Macromedia Extends J2EE Support for BEA, IBM, Sun And Apple

Macromedia said on Tuesday that it is extending its ColdFusion scripting support for BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, and Sun ONE application servers. The company also shipped the JRun 4 application server for Mac OS X.

The company shipped ColdFusion MX For BEA WebLogic Server, part of the ColdFusion MX for J2EE Application Servers product line, allowing experienced Java developers and Web application developers without Java programming skills to build and deploy WebLogic applications.

The software is priced at $3,399 per server.

Macromedia updated ColdFusion MX to support IBM WebSphere Application Server 5 and Sun ONE Application Server 7. Macromedia did not provide pricing and availability information on the IBM and Sun products.

Macromedia also added support for Mac OS X to the Developer Edition of Macromedia ColdFusion MX. JRun 4 for Mac OS X is priced at $899 per processor. Developer editions of both JRun 4 for Mac OS X and Macromedia ColdFusion MX for JRun are free.
