602Pro PC SUITE 2001 General Enhancements
- PC SUITE 2001 is eDock (Electronic Document Storage System) ready.
Any document can be opened from and saved to eDock via the PC SUITE programs. - New Open/Save As dialogs appear in all PC SUITE programs and contain the following
features: Desktop button for quick access to the Desktop, possibility of setting one or
more paths to user defined folders. A user-defined folder can be set as the default folder.
The dialogs enable direct access to eDock and provide document search in eDock. - Spelling checker now supports: English US/UK, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese
- 602Album: New digital picture organizer is included.
602Text (Word Processor) Enhancements
- New support for Microsoft Word XP (DOC) format.
- Improved compatibility with MS Word (DOC) 97/2000.
- Improved compatibility with TXT. Text from text tables are now exported to TXT.
- New AutoRecover system similar to that found in Microsoft® Word 97/2000 is embedded
in 602Text. This system protects your documents when 602Text or your Operating System crashes.
Next time you run 602Text after a crash, your document loads into 602Text as it was before
the crash. This new system replaces the older AutoSave system. - Language property was added as a new font property (see Tools - Language Selection).
It is now possible to create a document with multiple languages. - New export filters were added. You can export documents to the PalmDOC
format (PDB and PRC). - Outline Numbering was improved. Now it is found under Format - Paragraph - Bullets and
Numbering. The Miscellaneous tab was removed from the Paragraph dialog. - New Print Preview. It is possible to preview multiple pages as well as zoom and edit a page.
- New Footnote Numbering. Continuous numbering is available across the whole document
(in the 2000 version, footnote numbering started at 1 on each page). Now it is possible
to restart the numbering on each page or section as well. The keyboard shortcut for
footnotes (CTRL + H) was removed (this shortcut is used for the Replace command now). - It is possible to insert a Line Break into a document (also with the shortcut
SHIFT + ENTER like Microsoft® Word). In connection to this, the keyboard
shortcuts for Breaks have been changed. Insert - Section Break that used to have the keyboard
shortcut SHIFT + ENTER is now ALT + SHIFT + ENTER. The shortcuts for Page Break and
Chapter Break remain unaltered (CTRL + ENTER and SHIFT + CTRL + ENTER). - It is possible to add and modify a paragraph style in the main template for new
documents that are called Normal (this option is under Format - Paragraph Style Definition).
It is also possible to reset the Normal template. You may also use any user-defined
template for new documents (see Tools - Options - Files). - New options were added to the File - Print dialog. It is possible to print non-adjacent
ranges of pages in a document (such as pages: 1, 3, 8-10). To print data on forms, you can
use the Print data only for forms feature. - New show and hide gridlines feature in text tables.
- When margins are displayed in a document, there is protection against unintentional
dragging and moving them. - Turning unprintable characters on and off (Tools - Options - View) is now an available
button on the Formatting toolbar. - The tab Communication was removed from Tools - Options. When sending a document from
602Text by e-mail, the default e-mail client is used (Start - Settings - Control Panel -
Internet Options - Programs). - Symbols can be inserted into a document from Insert - Symbol. When you click
Insert - Symbol, 602Text will directly open the tab with symbols for the current selected font. - Form Fields (Form Text, Form Drop-down and Form Checkbox) are available on the Insert menu.
- The File - Send menu was restructured. The menu contains five commands: Send E-mail -
sends formatted text including pictures (HTML e-mail), Send E-mail (as Attachment) -
launches the default e-mail client and attaches the current document and Send Fax - creates a
fax from the opened document (only works with LAN SUITE). PC SUITE Plus 2001
activates the two commands: Send E-mail Merge and Send Fax Merge. - The command View - HTML Source was removed from the View menu.
- All Agent602 commands (602Pro PC SEARCH) were removed from 602Text.
