On Windows XP day, 25th October 2001, Microsoft, using Windows XP's MovieMaker and indie band ‘the Electric Soft Parade’, produced the world's fastest produced and broadcast music video and grabbed themselves a Guinness World Record!
Overseen by official adjudicators from the Guinness Book of World Records, the record attempt saw ‘the Electric Soft Parade’, who are widely being talked about by the music industry as the next ‘Coldplay’, on location on a whirlwind tour of different venues around London.
The footage was rushed to HMV’s flagship Oxford Circus store in London where it was edited by top producer – Steve Graham - using Microsoft Window’s XP’s Movie Maker application.
Three hours and 46 minutes later, the video hit the net, breaking the previous record holders, Mick Jagger and David Bowie, who produced the video for 'Dancing in the Streets' in about three days' time.
