Netmedia is a complete (server and client) audio/video home networking system for digital entertainment devices. Implemented on TI's TMS320C5000(TM) Digital Signal Processor (DSP) family, the Netmedia solution software includes optimized codec engines running under a networked RTOS environment, with less than 200KB of code, increasing the amount of performance headroom available on the DSP. OEMs of next generation digital entertainment devices, such as intelligent networked speakers, DVD/CD players, digital enabled clock radios/receivers, and other small low cost application-specific entertainment clients, can take advantage of Digital 5's industry leading IP allowing the creation of future synchronized, multiple stream, home digital entertainment network components. Audio Networking options currently include 802.11b as well other LAN standards with several others, including video functionality, to follow in 2002.

Anyone who believes in this project and would like to give us his or her input is eligible to sign-up. User feedback will be one of the keys to building a successful operating system. If you're willing to share a bit of your time, we would like for you to consider becoming an Insider.
