SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. and Verizon Wireless have formed a broad alliance to bring services and content from the Microsoft Network, including instant messaging , to Verizon's cell phone subscribers, the companies said on Thursday.
Over the longer term, both sides plan to co-develop smart phones, Pocket PCs and other mobile devices that run Windows, as well as wireless applications for corporations using the .NET Web services platform, they said.
